Microsoft has announced that Copilot is now generally available at the EKA Arena in San Francisco. Microsoft has declared that Copilot (formerly Bing Chat and Bing Chat Enterprise) is now readily accessible and no longer in preview. The company had launched Copilot in preview in February.
According to Microsoft, Copilot provides access to the latest information with powerful AI models like GPT-4 and curated sources. In a blog post on Friday, Microsoft stated, “When eligible users sign in with a qualifying work or school account (Microsoft 365 ID), they receive commercial data security at no additional cost, meaning signals and feedback are not stored,
Microsoft does not track on Microsoft 365, and no proprietary language models (PLMs) are used for training.” Moreover, tech experts mentioned that Copilot is now supported for commercial use with online services tied to universal commercial licenses terms with commercial data security. The company stated that these terms include Microsoft’s customer commitment to copyleft compliance (CCC), which enables customers to benefit from Microsoft’s Copilot services without worrying about copyright claims. Microsoft had told its Copilot service customers in September that if they were challenged on the basis of copyright, the company would take responsibility for potential legal risks. Brad Smith, President and Chairman of Microsoft, said, “The new commitment extends our existing intellectual property indemnity support to commercial Copilot services and is based on our previous AI customer commitments.
